Queen Beatrix International
Queen Beatrix International Airport is Aruba’s primary and only international airport. The airport was formally known as Dakota Field Airport. The airport has a single passenger terminal with parking for more than 12 aircraft of varying size. In 2007 a VIP terminal opened to service private jets and executive airliners. The airport is serviced by a plentiful selection of scheduled flights to a number of international destinations. In the Second World War, the United States Air Force used Queen Beatrix International Airport to defend Caribbean shipping lanes and the Panama Canal from German U-Boats.
