Flying a supercar documentary crew from London to Ibiza
In June 2021, a travel agent asked us to help fly an 80-person production crew from London to Ibiza, where they were filming a supercar documentary.
The group had originally planned to drive the featured cars to Spain via France; but after struggling to secure the necessary permits and being refused access to the Eurotunnel, they had no choice but to fly instead and hire replacement cars on location. Working to a tight timeframe, our experienced team pulled out all the stops to fulfil this last-minute request and minimise disruption to the filming schedule.
Our Solution
Route: London > Ibiza
Aircraft: Avro RJ100
Within an hour of receiving the brief, our expert team had used our unrivalled contacts to source an Avro RJ100 that could easily accommodate the large group. The aircraft was based at London Biggin Hill Airport, which meant the crew could take advantage of exclusive private facilities and park the 50 supercars that they’d originally planned to drive to Ibiza. We worked closely with the airport to confirm the finer details, leaving enough time for the client to fully brief the passengers and arrange Covid-19 tests before the flight.
The Finer Details
Exceptional Service: Air Charter Service’s superior buying power and attention to detail were key in securing this contract. Our broker met the client at the airport for a run-through and we went above and beyond to accommodate extra requests, such as organising a photoshoot with two of the supercars in front of the aircraft and positioning the client’s logo on the fuselage to welcome passengers onboard.
